Ireland’s Blood or Whiskey have been added to the 2012 Rebellion festival in Blackpool, England. Joining BoW are fellow Celt’s The Real McKenzies. The band are currently back in rehearsals, gearing up for their fourth studio album. Its nice to see Blood or Whiskey back in the saddle again after the recent serious illness of front man Dug’s and record label legal crap.

Blood and Whiskey will be taking a hiatus due to the illness of founder and frontman, Dugs Mullooly. Below is a statement from Blood or Whiskey’s management and Dugs. Hang in there Dugs, we’re rooting for you.
Hi Folks, happy new year to all Blood or Whiskey fans worldwide, hope you all had a good Xmas, now even though this is a private matter but in order to stop the gossip etc we felt it was only fair to let people know what’s going on and set the record straight, Dugs our Frontman, Vocalist, Guitarist and founding member was recently diagnosed with an illness that has knocked him back a bit and put the band on hiatus for now, on behalf of myself and all the other band members and crew our thoughts are with him and we wish him all best for the tough road ahead and a speedy recovery, Dugs is a warrior and we are confident that he will be back onstage in the not too distant future, cheers John Foley.
The following is a brief statement from Dugs: “Hello folks and a happy 2011 to you all. you might as well know that I have been Diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma which is a cancer of the lymph glands and I’m well into my chemotherapy at this stage. I have been fighting this disease the last 3 months and that is why Blood or Whiskey will not be doing anything in the near future, I hope that clears up your questions regarding the new album and upcoming shows, I’m sorry this happened but I hope to be back on my feet soon enough, I would like to thank everybody that has supported the band down the years and that will continue to support the band, take care folks and much love and respect Dugs”
