The Real McKenzies: Two Devils Will Talk

Two Devils Will Talk is the ninth studio album from Caledonian-Canadian Celtic-punk creators, The Real McKenzies. Two Devils is a solid, workmanlike punk rock’n’bagpipes outing. Not the best thing our northern brethren have done but like I said solid. Highlights include the re-recording of their classic Scots Wha Ha’e, the cover of the Canadian folk standard Northwest Passage and the radio friendly Fuck The Real McKenzies.

Shite’n’Onions Podcast#49 Robbie Burns

In tribute to the great Scottish poet on his night and since I did buy a haggis off a man in a subway station once here is the Robbie Burns Podcast.

Where hae ye been sae braw, lad?
Whare hae ye been sae brankie, O?
Whare hae ye been sae braw, lad?
Cam ye by Killiecrankie, O?

Chorus.-An ye had been whare I hae been,
Ye wad na been sae cantie, O;
An ye had seen what I hae seen,

The Real McKenzies, new album out Feb 14th, Westward Sails

Westward Sails, the new album from Canadian Scot’s the Real McKenzies is out Feb 14th on the Fat Wreck Chords label.

From the Fat Wreck Chords web site:

The Real McKenzies’ first new studio album in 4 years, Westwinds, will be hitting the shelves on March 27, 2012! Grab your kilts and whisky because these lads have already booked an extensive 2012 tour. Check out the cover art below and stay tuned for a new mp3 soon! Read what Gord McKenzie had to say about the record:

“We were holed up in Nanton, Alberta, Canada recording for over a month with award-winning producer and new friend, Steve Loree at Crabapple Downs. Our main idea for Westwinds was to create an all-electric album for our fans (to follow the all-acoustic record, Shine Not Burn). The goal was to release a great collection of songs that would not only make all of us McKenzies proud, but to also make that point that we’re not going anywhere anytime soon.”
