Swedish Celtic-punks Finnegan’s Hell are lining up their fifth full-length. Glorious Mess arrives 30 October via Wild Kingdom — accordion, flute and bouzouki welded to distorted guitars, whiskey-soaked choruses with a wink at life’s glorious chaos.
Second single “The King Becomes The Clown” is already out (after title-track teaser “Embrace the Glorious Mess You’re In”), and the band have release parties coming up in Gothenburg (30 Oct, Fyrens Ölkafé) and Malmö (6 Nov, Medley). Recorded at Union Station in Malmö.
Limerick brothers Tom and Cian O’Dowd — The Guzzlers — have poured another one for the faithful. Fresh off 20 Pints To Cherbourg (lager’s turn), the Liverpool-based Irish punk-folk duo drop A Pint Of Plain Is Your Only Man, a banjo-driven toast to stout and the old line that a Guinness won’t let you down when everything else will. There’s grief under the foam — lost jobs, lost homes, two aul lads at the bar talking shite — the way Irish music always has. Self-released single released early September on Bandcamp and the usual streams; debut album Drinking The Dream lands November 6, ten live acoustic tracks recorded with Jon Withnall. December they ride shotgun with Highstool Prophets through Liverpool, London and Manchester. Stick to what never lets you down.
Chicago’s own Tossers — the world’s loudest folk band — plant another hometown flag at Chop Shop on Wednesday, November 25. Tony Duggins and crew bring Flatfoot 56 and Three Blue Teardrops along for an 18+ Wicker Park night; doors 7, show 8, tickets from about twenty bucks. Before the turkey coma, it’s buckets of beer, banjos and blood on North Ave.
According to our friends over at London Celtic Punks, the London-Irish Celtic-punk lifers The Popes just shoved their 2012 album New Church onto the streaming racks, and opener Storming Heaven is the first single out the gate. Mad Dog McGuinness’s sandpaper bark and Thin Lizzy-via-Dubliners crunch landed fresh on Spotify and YouTube as of September via STT Records. The fan-driven reissue aims to drag New Church out of the vault for a generation that never caught the band between MacGowan’s Snake days and the long silence after Mad Dog’s 2013 accident. Full album next month if the interest sticks; vinyl and CD if enough of ye dig it. Get ready. We’re storming heaven.
Tullamore trio Chasing Abbey finally released their debut full-length, and Cyber Celt (out 18 September) is no polite folk handshake — it’s trad Irish bolts welded to electronic production, Gaeilge as a weapon, and a kick aimed at greed and colonialism.
Ronan Bell, Jonathan Byrne and Ted Conway spent a decade building platinum singles and a million online followers before this “debut,” which already feels like a manifesto. Kneecap lit the fuse; Chasing Abbey are carrying the charge — Íorónta, Greedy Pigs, Seachain — pride and defiance over beats that don’t quit.
The Cyber Celt World Tour already tore through sold-out Irish rooms, now crosses the US from 25 September to 29 October, and hits UK stops including London’s Scala on 4 November. Stream it, grab the coloured vinyl, join the uprising.

Swiss Celtic Folk ‘n’ Roll brawlers The Green Goblins just lobbed their second pre-album single into the streaming pits. “Turn It Around” — out now with a video — is the latest teaser for their self-titled debut, landing 2 October via Metalville.
Started as street players on the Switzerland–Germany–France border with guitar, violin and bagpipe, the Goblins carved a name ripping pubs, festivals and medieval markets: Irish tradition bolted to modern rock, no apologies. “Turn It Around” is pure bounce-back anthem — setbacks happen, quitting doesn’t. The full record packs whiskey-soaked choruses (“Whiskey, Tequila, Vodka & Beer”), “Johnny Jump Up,” and a “Goblins March” for the road.
Frankie McLaughlin — the brilliant ex-Rumjack bootboy behind Liptons Orphan — has released a stark new single on Bandcamp. Pain Management, out September 18, started life as a personal scrap Frankie kept in the drawer. Friends pushed him to let it into the light, and he timed the first socials blast around World Suicide Prevention Day 2026.
It’s one-man Celtic folk-punk the Liptons Orphan way: gravel voice, Scots cadence, and a lyric that walks the river, the bridge, the woods, the kirk, and the boozer looking for somewhere to set a nameless weight down. No big-label fanfare — just Frankie putting a hard song where someone who needs it might find it.
Ireland’s first punk band just got the call for the big room. The Radiators From Space are special guests when Sex Pistols featuring Frank Carter hit Dublin’s 3Arena on Monday, December 7, 2026 — the Irish date on the Anarchy In The U.K. and Ireland tour marking fifty years of punk. From Television Screen through Ghostown, the late Phil Chevron’s old crew still carry the Dublin DNA that made Celtic punk possible.
Chicago Celtic punk lifers Flatfoot 56 are rolling into Indiana this Saturday — September 26 — for an all-ages, open-air bash at People’s Brewing Co. in Lafayette. Doors 6pm. Local melodic hardcore wreckers Criminal Record and Boilermaker ska crew Third Wheeling open the gates. Mom&Pop Productions is running the parking-lot shindig rain or shine; tickets about $18 at the brewery, ~$21 online, or $25 day of.
